It is with heartfelt gratitude that we share the news that Literacy San Antonio, Inc., doing business as TX Reads, is closing summer 2025.

For the past 15 years, we’ve worked alongside outstanding educators, families, and community members to improve reading outcomes for Texas children.

Together, we:

• 📖 Trained 26 superintendents and 2,200+ educators in the science of reading;

• 📚 Distributed over 420,000 children’s books;

• 🤝 Provided 1,328 trained reading tutors for children.

Changes in state education policies and funding priorities prevent TX Reads from continuing to operate. Even with this chapter ending, the legacy of your support and our shared mission will impact Texas teachers and children for years to come.
